Disabling Overscan for the HDMI Input

By default, overscan seems to be activated for the HDMI inputs of Samsung TVs. This has the effect that parts of the image are missing when connecting a PC to the HDMI input. There is a fix for this problem, however it is not obvious:

In the source list view, the "tools" button opens a menu which allows renaming the input. If the input is renamed to "DVI PC", the TV deactivates the overscan and shows the image at its native resolution. I found this solution here.

This fix worked for me on a Samsung TV connected to an embedded PC running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and using the Intel embedded graphics.
